i have been to alot of car shows and cruises but every time i see an 84-90 they never have their hoods up and i have a 89 convertible with an tpi and was wondering where to start to make it a show piece and be different than any other c4 at the cruises. any one have pics of those years thanks
Before I changed out the injectors, I would leave my hood closed when I showed the car. After the swap and the intake and valve covers were detailed, I keep the hood up. It definitely gets more attention from the spectators that way. The flames draw their attention first and then they walk over and get lost in the plumbing of the runners on the intake. The kid love it. What I have done is a start. I'm just working with the stock items by playing with paint. I will eventually braid the hoses and replace some of the smaller hoses with red silicone ones to add more color.
my LT1 is easier to detail and keep clean... my L98 was clean too but was over 115k and a bit harder to keep in top shape... anyway both stay close at any show except if somebody ask to open it or any info on the engine... if i ever have a LT5/ZR1 the hood will stay up for sure even if i have to spend 2 hours to detail it every weeks this is the nicest engine they have installed in corvettes except the 427/435 tri-power
Its 25 years old now and getting close to the 150,000 mile mark but I still open the hood at every show. The Crossfire L83 is a pain to detail but its a work in progress. Every year I try and concentrate on something new to make her stand out a little more.

That looks damn nice!
Are those colored vacuum hoses? where did you get them from?
