To anyone who has replaced their interior carpeting, did the aftermarket replacement pieces for the sides of the console match up correctly with the factory pieces? I'm looking at some pieces here that are cut a little differently and I'm not sure if this is to be expected or what... And before anyone asks, yes, this is for the correct year.

They aren't even close to being correct. I bought my carpet from Mid America and the console pieces weren't even remotely close. I used the old pieces as a pattern then cut to fit.

But the console pieces have stitching on the ends where they meet the rubber/plastic -- did you just ignore that stitching, and use an unfinished carpet edge there??

I did wasn't anything else I could figure out to do with the damned things Once the glue dried I took a GOOD pair of scissors and trimmed the extra fuzzies that were poking up over the edge. Glue the mess out of the top of the console and the carpet itself and press it in firmly and it will look good. If memory serves me it's recessed at the top. The door sills have a rubber/plastic edging on them too that doersn't come in the damned kit either Once it's all done vacuum it out fifteen times or else you will be wiping carpet fuzzies off your dash everytime you drive it

That seems awfully silly to me, given the cost of these carpet kits -- $400 and I need to cut off improperly shaped/trimmed parts? We're not talking about seat belt holes here -- this is stuff that's the same on each car and doesn't need to count on individual variation. It's poor quality control, nothing more.
We have two different issues here, mine were nowhere near that close, they were basically two big ****ed up rectangular shaped pieces. Yours look like they were supposed to fit. The ones I had we're waaaaaaay worse. It worked out o.k. as it is recessed but damn you shouldn't have to do this sort of thing. I bought mine on Ebay from Mid America and it sat in the box for a year before I put it in. By the time I got around to doing it I figured they would laugh at me if I complained.
