When I bought my 87 it had the wood dash kit but it was cracked and in bad shape so I used the pieces warped them in a high grade vinyl and reinstalled. I never liked the way the bread box looked makes the inside look smaller
I have not done the breadbox removal on my '86 because (to be perfectly honest) not a single one of the available aftermarket options have given the passenger side of the dash a true "factory look".
Not saying anything about the quality of the panels.....just the look. Kind of hard for an aftermarket company to do anything with the area though and I understand that.
THIS, however, does the job perfect. I don't really know exactly what it is about it that I like so much.......but that is FANTASTIC!
I guess it is simply that the entire dash just blends together soooooo smoothly.
