Who cares ? It's $40K+ and up for a plastic two door Chevy that depreciates like crazy. All the BULL**** they add to new cars that drives up the price and makes them HEAVY is what irritates me. Heated Mirrors, electronic stability control, traction control, GPS navigation LTPWS all BULL****. My next Corvette will have none of that nonsense.

You got that right! All the adds ons belong on a luxury SUV, etc. I don't see why it found it's why onto the corvette's.... added weight, added complexity, more things to go wrong IMO.

ABSOLUTEY!! Less is more

Want a Caddy then go buy one. I WISH they made a stripper model of both the Vette and the Camaro without all the garbage and oversensitive controls that throw a code if you have a misfire in a wire or god forbid you cut some baffles out of the airbox/run a cooler stat.

Big brother stuff has no place in anything I own.

I WISH I would have waited and bought an OLDER Corvette rather than the stupid LT1 car I have now. Too much junk, the hatch quit releasing and $160.00 later for just the ****ing part and it pops open as intended. God forbid it just have a ****ing key, oh no it's gotta have two remote release buttons

I got mixed feelings about that

The prefect combo, C5 front with the C6 rear. I'd love the flip headlight but hate the big/fat ***.

They could offer one and call it oh I dunno Z06 It doesn't need more power it needs less junk, less weight. Remove all the bull****, stability control, ABS, cup holders, NO remote or power anything. They went to great lengths to reduce the weight of the Z06 so they could still cram hundreds of pounds of worthless junk in the car. Power seats, heated mirrors, air conditioning, power windows and an option for navigation too I THINK.

Probably get better mileage being lighter, too. Bet they would sell TONS of them.

BUT its still a fatmans car so they wont.

There were things to like about both C4s I had but honestly I hated all the electronic garbage, never used it except the windows. Next car to be on the road has nothing except for power brakes/steering, thats it. NO electronic anything, no DIC to light up, codes or idle going weird out of nowhere because yet another aging something decided to go bad that day. Take the electronics out of these cars and Id own them all day long.

That would be a nice project for you.
Pick up a nice 84 for next to nothing. Stick a carburator on it, and begin pulling all the crap off of it. No abs, or traction control. Get one with manual heat and cooling controls. The carb would let you dump the computer.

Go for it.

Was there ever an option for manual windows in ANY year c4?

I just hate having to worry about all the electronic components going wrong!

I wouldn't even mind seeing cloth seats in a stripped model vette' better traction with the seat, and cheaper to replace the seat covers when they get worn out. In fact, is there a vendor that offers cloth seat covers instead of leather, simulated leather?

That's a shame. I could do it in here in Ohio, but I lack the ability or the desire. But I think it would be a great project to follow.

c6 front looks so hideous, that I'm trading mine in for a c4 AND a Mustang, AND a condo in florida.

And now we go over the top the other way.

To get all 3 of those, you'd have to get a crappy example of each, especially the condo. Even if you had a brand new C6 ZR1.

C6 is a nice car, but it is a just a car, and it is a Chevy.

The 84 poses a few problems, the first one being no six speed available and no Dana 44 either. That and there's so much garbage crammed into these cars you would be hard pressed to remove it all, the power mirrors and power windows being two. There were no manual windows available so rigging something up would be a giant p.i.t.a. I should build a T bucket they don't even have ****ing doors PERFECT

I think you could live with the power windows and mirrors.
I think you could get a Tremec 5 speed to fit an 84 4+3.
Didn't know that a Dana 44 wouldn't fit an 84. That would be an issue.

I'd rather live without them though
You could put a six speed in it not a huge deal and a Dana 44 will bolt in but by the time your done you could just start with an 89 or a 90 and get a real six speed with a Dana 44 already in it. These cars are cheap now.

I like them just fine, they look nice, the frame and LS3 is enough to make a performance minded C4 owner drool. It's all the other **** GM sticks in these cars that makes them heavy and complicated I could live without. Power windows and seats in a sportscar with heated mirrors The press **** whine about the interior, if I want a really comfortable seat Lay Z Boy has nice stuff
