Default More power - cheap

For those of you that have an L-98, here a fairly inexpensive way to pick up serveral horsepower and a lot of good sound. I replaced the Y-pipe and the precats with a new pipe and single converter. You can feel the power at low speed and the sound is much improved.

Maybe but not much. If I was to change the exhaust for performance, I go with headers first. The breathing problem with the L98 is the intake. IMHO

Just did the same thing. Dumped the precats with the Catco system from Jegs or Summit. I don't recall now, I've bought so many items in the last 3 monthc. Single cat now. Stock cleaned up y-pipe and the LT1 black tipped muffler eliminators. The car sounds great now. Revs quicker also. I think the old cats were shot, clogged or whatever they become with age.

My deal was less than $300 installed. That was my cheap comment. By the way...I already have cold air ram induction.

Think he meant the intake manifold itself being restrictive.

The intake air box isn't restrictive, its the runners/plenum/base.

When i ported my intake manifold base, i thought to myself, who the **** designed this?

at the bottom of the ports, there were little half inch tall walls across the whole port. what the hell is that there for? BLOCKING AIR FLOW.
