Porter Cable Orbital Random Buffer Tips and Techniques.

Sorry for posting in the wrong section but I figured not many people go to car care regularly.
Maybe we can put something in FAQ about this.

Stay off the sharp breaks in the body panels and stay away from the edges of the body panels. It's too easy to start taking off paint on breaks and edges and that nice thin look where you can see the underlying fiberglass is not in fashion this year.

you ain't kidding... my car is covered with them!!!
They guarantee you won't burn paint or strip the paint off the corners, and it's turning at 4500 RPM (it goes up to 8000, but they recommend 4500).
I've done 8 cars with it so far to stunning results.

Are you able to use the Meguires velcro pads too? Reason I ask, those are the only pads I have experience with.
Well, with that machine, and the proper Meguires pads for the job (there are many different types of pads, make sure you have the correct one for the job)...I've had no problems with burnt paint or corners. I've done every line, fender line, seam...you name it, I've dragged the polisher over it with no problems.
I love it...and I can now do a glaze coat and a wax coat in about 1 hour!
Color cars I have done: White, black, two different blue's, purple (PT Cruiser), red.
