Just picked it up Saturday and I replaced the brake booster yesterday(bargained down since it made the whoosh when braking).
That went as well as getting your arm and shoulders stretched to the breaking point can but now the brakes work great. Problem now is evidently I jiggled the mass of wires under the column too much and one of them is evidently the radio relay since the radio will work sometimes now and decide to not put out any sound other times.
My question is if anyone can identify the wire colors going to the relay so I can figure out which one it is. The car has an alarm that I managed to unplug a wire to but I figured out how to get it back in and running. I'm just guessing the radio relay had to be moved to that area since it is next to impossible to relocate it to the correct location after changing it out and since the radio worked fine before the booster replacement.
Thanks
If it's Bose, the relay is attached to the dash support brace, just right of the radio. Access is a complete bitch.
Off to work, I'll post some more info, later.

Sorry, it is the original Bose system. The sale came with a newer bose stereo which I plan on putting today or tomorrow. Is the relay easier to get to with the radio out or just a biotch altogether?
I just figured since it was the original radio the relay had probably gone out long ago and the person who changed it out probably put it into the mass of wires under the column.
Thanks again

Before digging into anything, test the Radio fuse and the CLK/CTSY fuse. Both have to be in good working order for Bose to function. If they test good, the relay is the next in line. Looking at the first pic, the relay would be located through the hole in bottom, left corner. I have a breadbox delete, so access is easier for me.
Second pic shows the relay and the 4 wires. They are pink, orange, pink/black, and black.
Your best bet is to remove the passenger foot well panel (has courtesy light), slide on you back and look up into the mess of wires. See if you can see the relay or the 4 wires. Get to the connector and remove it from relay, pull it down and plug in new relay, then tuck it into the rats nest.
Thanks for the pics. It helps alot. The stereo is coming on at different times then not coming on other times. Kind of like a nice surprise when it decides to work. I plan on getting into it tomorrow night and figuring out what I did.
Thanks
Sorry, to be clear it comes on every time. It just decides when it will actually put out sound.
After going through changing out the brake booster yesterday my shoulders hurt too much to get into it tonight.

The under the hood wiring harness is subject to "shrinking insulation". This exposes the copper core around the connector ends. I highly recommend that you carefully inspect each and every engine bay connector to ensure the insulation is intact. Otherwise, pulling and tugging on anything in the engine compartment can and will result in significant problems including fire.
I installed a quick disconnect on the battery and carry a fire extinguisher.
Well the4 blood is slowly draining from my head. The relay was still in the original spot. Still went in and out after changing relay.
After I changed out the radio to another bose in better shape it works fine now. I think the problem had to do with the aftermarket cd changer hooked into the wiring. I checked all of the connections and fixed a couple that didn't look good. Now it works great.
Thanks for all of the info. This board is great.
