Anyone know how to open the glass hatchback on an 85 without battery power? There was a plastic plunger like thing back there but as soon as i pushed on it the plastic snapped right off. Any suggestions? Thanks ...David
well the last guy opened my rear hatch with a brick when he helped himself to my stereo.
My thief was more creative ; he used a pry bar by the latch to try and lever it open. Obviously a big piece of glass doesn't take to that too well

That is the retainer for when you put the targa top in the back.
When in car looking at hatch , there is a wire coming out of the release solenoid on the LHS behind the carpet
