Default Replacement Antenna

So I get the replacement today from thepartsladi and now I want to know how in the heck do I mount it? The wiring is all pretty straight forward but the bracket is junk and there is no way to mount it to the hole. Any help out there or do I need to send this thing back? Now I wish I had just pulled the old one and rebuilt it.

I finally figured out how to get it tightened up and on good. Not happy with it but if that is what GM is calling OEM I guess I am stuck. I do plan on keeping the parts and old antenna and rebuild it to change back to flush mount later. Not happy since I could have just bought a metra POS and had pretty much the same thing and a bunch of cash in my pocket to buy beer which if I drink enough of it my eyesight blurs and makes me forget how it looks.

I would guess the metra would end up about the same with a nub on your driver's rear deck instead of the flush mount just a heck of a lot cheaper.

When my wife gets home I'll take some pics of how it turned out. I guess it looks better than I think. I had to use a tacky looking chrome piece to tighten the antenna in the hole but a few strokes of touch up black paint took that eyesore away.

That's why I ditched my stock antenna and got a hidden antenna that is now laying under the rear deck.

Here are pics of the finished(kinda) install. I just have the wires twisted and taped for now until I take apart the old one to see if I can fix it. The flush look is so much nicer.

Here it is.......http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT
Best thing is that it works perfectly. In fact it was so quiet going up I thought it didn't work when I first turned on the radio. lol
Butt plug ugly though.

I installed a new hirschmann antenna off ebay for a fraction of the cost. It works great, came with good mouting hardware, good fit, and is very quiet going up and down. I can't even hear the antenna motor inside the car.
