Do a bunch of hot then cold cool downs and then change the oil/fluid after 500 miles before going WOT on them.
You wanna get the gears to experience the heat cycles and break in properly.
Some mid throttle runs and highway driving, speeding up and slowing down helps.
One advice I got was to drive around for 30 minutes then stop the car and let it cool off for 30 minutes or so..then go drive again and etc,did this about 5 times...that worked fine too.

robert I talked with pat Ikerd of http://www.vettepart.com/index.htm last sept at mid america design's anual vette fest in effingham IL. here's what pat told me, drive the car 1/2 hour 40mph max, let gear's cool down, repeat this a couple a times, then 500 mile's before you get on it hard. hope this help's you out. IMOP it would'ent hurt to change the lube after 500 mile's either. good luck and happy rustang hunting :D :D :D :D :D
