I know you might not be able to address the harness issue, but from your experience, is there anything special to this? Will I need to change out speakers since the factory Bose units are still in the car? Any help at all would be appreciated.

pretty sure youd have to replace all the speakers and i think new speaker wire too, at leas that was the problem when i planned to stick a pioneer head unit in my 92 with bose
crutchfield.com file out the make and model of car it will give a list of stereo's that will fit you 92 vert and everthing you will need to install. i typed in the stereo you listed and it said it would not fit.
check it out, great prices, great tech service.
i purchased stereo and harness that would plug into factory harness, i also have boss speakers it works great.
Here is the deal. You might want to stay away from motorized screen units. I believe the shifter when it is in park will interfere with the screen coming out. Perhaps I am wrong as this one might come out differently than some of the others I looked at.
I used a double din one and I like it a lot. A couple things I found. First, stay away from flea-bay. More trouble than it is worth. I had to return speakers because they did not ship them on time, and HD turner that was not compatible, and a rear sub woofer that came DOA. Buy locally. Also, you will need to run new speaker wires. You will need a harness adapter and an antenna adapter. It took me a good three day weekend to finish the job. I also had to use a dremmel tool remove much of the plastic radio box so everything would fit even though the crutchfield site said the unit I selected would fit without modification. I also had to rig my own brackets to hold it in there. I just fabbed them up with wood since that was easiest and nobody see it.
Thanks everyone, for your input. I've already purchased it, so I'll check it out when I get back home (I'm in Brasil right now). I called Boss's technical support, and they said their wiring is standard stuff and I can buy harness adaptors to make it fit from a wiring standpoint. However, the physical fit is something they couldn't tell me about, so I'll just have to check it out when I get home. Cross your fingers! I'll write again when I make a determination and let everyone know what the outcome is.

if you need help installing it I can help, I'm in League city and do all of my own work. After I took my 2005 truck into circuit city and them catching my truck on fire I decided I am a way better installer than most other places.
Andrew 832 457 9253. Also if it plays dvd's there is a trick that you can do where you can play dvd's while you drive to disable the interlock.
Also as for fit: You should have no problems. The Boss Head unit looks to be a single din. You may have to by a kit but usually about 5 to 10 bucks sometimes more for the right fitting one. Other problems you may have to deal with are the antenna adapter. Some of the Chevy models have diffent antennas.
Check out the excellent Audio/ Electronics section - I made my equipment choices and did a complete install based mostly on advice and info I got from there..
