Okay. I see all this talk about C5ers not waving to C4ers.. Well, I think I'll just with-hold my C5 waves unless I see them wave first. I don't have my Vette yet but I should by the weekend.. I think waving is a bit dangerous in New York to begin with - but I'll see what happens.
I can go and get a loan to drive a C5 and have no problem paying for it. But, I need a C4 first. For some strange reason, I only started liking Corvettes over the past year! Crazy, right? Well, I don't want to start with a 2002 because I'll never go back and drive an older model. If I skip it now, I'll never get one. PLUS, I really like the styling of the C4's. There's just something about them that I like better! Really. I do like the looks of the C4 better. Interior is another story. Forget about that. I love the interior of a C5.
Regardless, I think I'll hold my C5 waves until I see one from them.
Got two return waves yesterday. Both silver C-5's. This hapened, if anybodys interested, on hi-way 121, just south of Stronettas' Dairy. Keep your hopes up Paisan..........
Sal, I love my car...but if I had the chance to buy a '96 again...it would be a Grand Sport with Red/Black interior...those darn things make me drool every time....
Whats so dangerous about waving in New York? Is it a call sign? "Hey Pal! Come over here and mug me will ya?"  :jester I here NOBODY from New York looks up especially downtown... if they do they are announcing they are tourists. This true? Oh well... I ALWAYS wave. So WAVE DAMNIT   :D :D
Funny, I've read a couple posts in the C5 forum where they complained that C4's were the worst at returning the wave!
I don't know who to believe!
:seeya
A guy in a C5 waved at me the other day, but I didn't realize it. My friend said that guy just waved at you. But by the time I realized what he was talking about, it was too late. He was prolly thinking "Those damn C4 guys never wave..."
No-No Don't let the C5's not see you wave first. You see it doesn't matter if they wave or not but you must wave. Then the burden is on them to wave back. It goes way back and it doesn't matter what year corvette you have. By the way I love my C4 and would not even consider a C5. They are two different cars and you could like either one but they are totally different. To me the C4 is more Corvette than the C5. The C5's are just too sweet for me, but then I am an old Corvetter. Had my first one in 1968 it was a 1964. Sold it for $2600 - Ouch! Good driving and wave - I waved at a Camero yesterday. :seeya :seeya
Oh, alright. I'll wave. I'll kinda just give the peace-sign anyways.. Hey, you know that sideways peace sign you see every now and then? That's mine.. I invented that. :)
I drive my 93 to work every day. Just outside of Hattiesburg I am joined by a C5 from HWY98. We get off at the same exit and go into town. I wave but I have tinted windows and so does he. :yesnod: So he could be waving and I would never know. He/she has a white C5 and of course mine is black. Kind of cool when we hook up.
I like c4 styling as well, it just reeks corvette, as C5 really doesn't say corvette much.
C4's are very unique, no other car on the road looks like them. Many cars look like c5's.
Plus the C4 to me, is a classy cheeta laying down ready to strike!
While the C5 has this bubbly female passive look going on.
