Default Bad night

Well in going home from work yesterday, had a deer run in front of me. Went across the the road and hit a ditch. Hit square on the passenger side, and at one time, the car was up on two wheels. Nobody was hurt. Just looks like i'm going to be in the market for some rear suspension parts, and a couple of wheels. If anybody has anything, it is an "89".

Glad no one was hurt, hitting a deer in a Vette is something I never want to do. Here in Illinois the deer are everywhere right now and there are a lot of them. I'm constantly watching for them no matter what I'm driving.

Don't know if a 90 is the same, but this guy has one in West Plains Mo. Not mine, so don't pm me.

Sorry to hear about that! Im glad your OK and I hope only minor things happened to the car. I have trailing arms chamber rods and toe rods off my '90 that should fit. Let me know what you need and I can look for it.

Not that this makes any difference now but something to remember;

In the PRC, hitting a deer is an act of GOD. (covered by ins.)
Hitting any other animal is like hitting a tree. (not covered by ins)

Sometimes its better to do the unthinkable....

I hit one last year and it sheared off my right front headlight. No other damage than that. I was lucky.

Haven't got to look at it yet, but will after lunch. Will let you know what I need. Now that I think back on it, kind of glad I was in the vette, low center of gravity.

Ok, here's what i found. Need upper and lower trailing arms, rear hub bearing (don't know if it needs it or not for sure), two wheels ( salad shooters), and a 4 wheel alignment. Could have been worse.

most important thing is that you are ok. repairing the car is a small price to pay when you consider that its possible that the deer could've gone through your windshield and mangled you up a bit. how bad is the car? any fiberglass damage? any pics of the damage?

Glad you didn't hit him cause God only knows what the outcome would have been. Cars can always be fixed but people are much harder to patch up. I live in New England and the deer are all over the place here so when driving you always have to be on guard. We also have moose here and I would rather hit a deer than a moose as they are huge. Best to you getting car fixed.
