Using a iMac with Snow Leopard and Google advance security you are blocked from accessing the Corvette Forum with a Security Warning Malware is present. Using a PC and XP, I get a Windows shutdown.
I reloaded my iMac prior to Google securuty to get to this place. Hope this helps the systems people at the forum.
Using a MacBook Pro here (Leopard 10.5), and Firefox web browser with Adblock Plus active.
I see none of the issues everyone is reporting.
I think the malware is actually contained in one of the ads that tries to load.
I haven't tried the forum on any computer without Adblock Plus running.
But on both Mac and PC, (Firefox with Adblock Plus) I see no issues. I am not doubting the issues though. It's just that I believe they are coming from the Ad redirects.
I also have had my Symantec AntiVirus quarantine each time this virus that is in my "cookies". The virus is, Bloodhound.Exploit.193 which I discovered is an older virus that attacks Flashplayer files.
I am glad my AntiVirus is up to date and catches these attacks.
My AntiVirus picked this up last night and I haven't had any problems so far.
I'm using AVG, and it caught something or other...I'm a long way from a computer expert, but it said Trojan Horse or something like that. Even on a reboot, I got weird icons down on the toolbar, and then no pages would load whatsoever. I ran a system restore and now all is well again.
I thought I had caught an infection elsewhere....never linked it to CF until reading this.
Here's my latest
Result: 1 malware found
Exploit.JS.Pdfka.anx (virus)
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\WQPDYWBJ\manyWord[2].pdf Action: deleted
What I've noticed for quite some time is that when I want to click the Red X box in the upper right hand corner (XP & IE) that the window doesn't immediately close. I also can't open any folders where my links are stored. This doesn not happen with any other site I visit.
I'm using AVG free and it's never hit on a virus or trojen on this site.

I would strongly suggest that any one who has been here in the last couple of days, run an in depth virus scan. I found 3 already, nothing major, but still.
You mean a computer bug could affect my.......oh dear!
But seriously, I don't think Internet Brands would intentionally subject their....uhhhh....members to anything malicious, and I'm certain they are trying to rectify the problem. System scan would be a very good idea.

Apparently they have got it. A guy from IB is checking every 10 minutes
for any malicious code

Appears to be better now, I don't see the "f" site, or the other one mentioned when loading CF. IE hasn't shut down either so to the CF IT department for getting a handle on this.
I had the same problem last night after exiting CF. It did say something about malware, it put 3 different porno site icons on my desktop. I thought it was from an email that I opened, I guess not. I had to you use system restore and run a virus scan. Hopefully the problems resolved.

I am not sure where I am suppose to send this, or who I am suppose to report a concern or issue like this so I am doing this here.
Since our forum had some cyber attacks a few days ago I have had some issues getting into our site. I noticed something different when loading that I have pointed out in the attached screen shot from my computer. I also have had my Symantec AntiVirus quarantine each time this virus that is in my "cookies". The virus is, Bloodhound.Exploit.193 which I discovered is an older virus that attacks Flashplayer files.
Before I decided to post here I checked with my other computer (laptop) and got the same thing. I don't get this on any other website I go to, only here.
Can someone please forward this onto the CF IT people to look at? And maybe is anyone else notices the same thing then they can identify the problem.
As you can see in the screen shot below as I am loading our forum it "waits" to go to a different site (sorry about the word but it is what comes up). The green progress bar shows that I am just starting to load our CF webpage.
Hope this is clear enough to understand and to get it fixed. I am glad my AntiVirus is up to date and catches these attacks.
Be sure to pm any mod and let them know about any virus attacks.
I had problems with the forum a few times, and they are GREAT about getting the information to the powers that be.
They cant do anything themselves from what I understand under most conditions, but they can forward the info to who it needs to be sent to and alert them.
With this many people having these alerts pop up, its definately something they will pay attention to.
I myself havent had anything like that pop up on mine, but that doesnt mean it wont happen in the future!
I've been having the same problem. Shame on you CF Protect your members!
All of the members here should protect themselves. There are viruses everywhere on the internet. You should always update your windows os, keep your anti-virus, firewall, etc. up to date. Remember, this forum is FREE.
I think it is the computer companies trying to get people to buy new computers. Have you seen just the people in CFOT asking about new computers because theirs is messed up from this wave of viruses. It forces people into thinking that they might as well just buy a new one. Not a bad plan for the computer companies to use their computer nerds to make up a bunch of viruses to spread worldwide and mess people's computers up. Not very good ethics but it probably sells computers. Just my thoughts.
