Don't you just love it when it's 19 degrees outside and your wonderful 100%
accurate fuel gauge says reserve. The range still says 37 miles, but you know it's more like 3.7.
I figured I could pump gas this morning and freeze my ...... off, or I could put it off and wind up carrying gas to the car and get even colder. I chose option #1.
Ever notice how no matter how fast the pump usually is, when it's cold it takes FOREVER?
I don't know how you guys up north put up with it. I'd rather be cold than hot, but this is a little too cold.

Try pumping gas when it is below ZERO :D
I guess I have gotten use to it.. I have lived near Chicago all my life. This year has been a very mild winter.. When I left the house this AM it was 15deg and I have to scrape my Daily driver windows since the wife's car and my vette get garage rights
Well I would do that. My car is in a psuedo heated garage. It isn't heated directly, but it was probably 50 -60 or so when it's 17 outside. That really helps with the warmup time. I don't have to wait for my oil to desludge before I can drive.
I would do the full service thing here, but there's a small problem. First and foremost I don't want some little punk spilling gas on my paint. Second is that the only place around here that even does full service is "Swifty" They sell full service for less than anybody else does self service. Needless to say it's really crappy gas. I can't do that to my car, I respect it too much.
I hear ya... I think my gas gauge is a little screwy. It read a 1/4 tank and I was still able to get 16 gallons in there.Stop&Shop too :D. I'll use anything. Oh, it was lots of fun with the temp hovering around 25 with the wind blowing. I've always said I'd rather sweat than shiver.
You guys can have the cold weather i'll take the heat over the cold. I can always shed more clothes just can't seem to get enough clothes on when its cold. Give me 80 plus... :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:
I went to get gas, and the gas door was frozen shut! That was a lot of work to get it open, I did all the math and in order to get where I was going comfortably, I'd need to get well over 30 miles per gallon, it took a long time to get it open!
I guess I am used to freezing my butt off when winter is here. It has really been quite mild this winter, though. We had 60 degree temps up until last week. Now we are in the teens! It should be in the 40's.
What's worse than putting the 12-14 gallons in the Vette when it is cold? Putting 34 gallons in the wife's Suburban when it is 23 degree's and the wind is blowing like all he** from the north. Last time I'll take her truck to work
It was 10 here when I left for work @ 5:30am today. We had received some wet snow yesterday, and the doors on my Z-24 were frozen shut. The weather outlook doesn't look alot better in the next week either. http://www.weather.com/weather/local/48611?GO=GO
I've gotta move someplace warmer.....
