I decided to drive the Vette to work today and a black C5 pulled up along side me and gave me a thumbs up. I kindly returned the gesture. I also have a friend who owns a 2001 C5 and he always ways. :)
I was down at the drag strip last Friday night when my c4 buddy and a z28 owner got into a bit of a contest. The z28 fellow had a friend their with a C5 and he and I got to chatting while the other two took it to the track. The c5 guy was new to his car and politely asked me would I like to run my c4 against him for 'grins'. We did so and although I had him at the 60' mark, he promptly went by me at the halfway point. We pulled back around and kept chatting and I told him about the forum.
My point is this, he was as in love with his new Vette as I was with my c4 still. I couldn't help but remember how it felt when I first had my vette and the grin I had on my face all of the time, this guy had the same look.
It's a great community online as well as on the road. I can't remember being part of such a large group of people with one common interest that keeps them talking and motivated like these Corvettes seem to do....glad to hear you ran into another good c5 driver. :yesnod:
That's a great story - kind of restores my faith. So many times other drivers just don't wave back or even acknowledge that you share a common interest....your story is refreshing. :yesnod:

Glad to hear there are still people keeping the tradition. And you got beat by a new owner? (Is that a Vortech Supercharger in your profile, because I don't know what a "SQ" is???- Ima newb).
Yeah, it's a supercharger. Running the 6 lbs of boost right now, no traction though. I'm definitely NOT a drag racer, don't have the skills. We were having fun that night however!
