If you don't explicitly ask another member on this commercial forum for a carfax, your not breaking any forum rules.
The terms of use say nothing about letting someone use your carfax for personal reasons a violation.Your making somthing out of this that is not. END OF STORY!

Maybe you could look up the definition of personal.

I don't see an exemption here for "explicit" versus non-explicit.

I mean absolutely no offense and am here solely for fun and want to help but you're right, you are not sure. Title washing is an old practice that has gained new steam. I had a friend installing a stereo pull a door panel and guess what, mud line. It was a flood car. He went through hell but he got his money back.
Again, I just want to help. Check for your self:

note the date, 2005. Like I said title washing is an old practice. Older than even this article. DMV, BMV, etc. don't really like talking about it. Insurance companies don't like talking about it either.
Here's why they don't want to talk about it. A law was passed to prevent exactly this, title washing, by developing a national system that tracks all VINs. This was over a decade ago the law passed. Guess what? No national system yet. Enter carfax and autocheck (pretty smart of them actually).
