When you say "Lost all electrical power" if you had no headlamps/running lamps/interior lamps and nothing thru the ignition switch--sounds like you have a bad connection at the battery terminals or at the other end of one of the battery cables. The ECM wouldn't cause the complete electrical system to be dead.
We need MUCH better info, coolant temp of 132 is NOT normal and as stated above, is the car dead like it would be with no battery or is it just impossible to start?
Sounds like a battery connection problem. And 132 is way low for a warmed up C4.
On the other hand, if the engine quit but you still had power to lights, etc., I was wondering about VATS. Does anyone know if a VATS problem could shut things down in mid cruise, rather than just prevent start up?
my vette is an 84 and i have had it for two years. It always runs around 234 degrees. battery connection is perfect, Like new. I take care of it. when i say no power i mean no power. its running now. but i anticipate it happening again. Something has be be able to cut power. even the dash lights and instruments went black. I didn't check if the head lights went out because it happened in daylight, and since headlights are usually connted straight to the batter I am assuming they worked. This has to have something to do with the ignition.
check the leads that plug into the alternator. something could have gotten corroded. As far as the temp. the previous owner of my corvette thought it was a good idea to gut the thermostat. It ran around 150* even on the hottest days. Changed it put in a 180* stat.
now it runs around 175* on the highway and in the 190 to 212* range in heavy traffic. you might want to consider changing that before you get a thermo shock condition in the winter time. (warping cylinder walls).
Remove, clean and re-tighten both ends of both battery cables.
I had the same problem one time, it was the positive terminal. I shut the car off from a drive, and tried to start a few days later, and nothing. I thought I drained the batt, but it was good, some how the terminal was not getting a good connection( it was tight) and did not start. took off, and put back on car has been fine for the last couple of years.
