Default Stalker Wing

Please post pictures of you C4 with the Stalker Rear Wing installed. Is there a significant improvement to the downforce to the extent that the car will corner more quickly?

I didnt have any idea what you were talking about so I did a search on the web. This kit is available from Corvette America. I dunno but you wont find many spoiler/wing fans here so the pic in this page might be your source. I will go easy on ya because I live in JAX a couple of months out of the year.

Yeh if you are going over 150 mph! Are you a street racer or something?

I dislike all styles of wings on Corvettes. I think they should stay on Nissians and Hondas and other want to be sports cars.

Cool, I wish my son had a wing on his Z06 when I spun it last year at Summit in Virginia. I just said it was pushing. To be honest i just went in to fast and had to break like a ***** trucker before I took out a bridge. Glad you took it too as you did as I'm one to dish it and sometimes in not a to gentle manner dependent upon my meds. Glad to have met you and I also like some wings.

You may want to check out the Autocross/Roadracing forum, there are several there who track C4s who may not frequent the C4 area as often as that one. They may be able to comment, and also recommend C4 spoilers that work well.

There aren't really many "functional" wings out there for C4s. By the eyeball test, that Stalker wing looks like all show and no go. The only real options for something that will give you an actual benefit are something that is non-Vette specific, something from Greenwood, or something that is a "track only" type of spoiler (not wing). If you want functional, these are your basic choices:

Functional, non-Vette specific wing. this is the LG GT2 wing. $$$$$$

Greenwood wings. the first is the G4. Not made anymore, but pop up used from time to time.

Next is the more common Greenwood wing. It is more of a street package, but according to them it gives some benefit.

After that you go from wings to spoilers. Cheaper, good downforce, more drag...

Most importantly... don't pay attention to the masses who give you crap about having a wing/spoiler on your car. If they ever drove them the way a Corvette was meant to be driven, they would understand.

The guy already said he used it on a track... in fact, you quoted him saying it. You do realize that the "want to be" cars are emulating the "actually are" cars right?

This one must be a "want to be sports car" right?

This is probably not relevent, but years ago I purchased a new '94 3000GT VR4 which had all kinds of neat gadgets including front and rear spoilers that moved based on speed. At higher speeds the front air dam would lower and the rear spoiler would change angle. Speeds up to 130 it did not make any difference what position they were in...you could not tell a difference.

So my vote....it will not make a difference.

Are you saying that no wing would make a difference, or just the stalker one?

From my experience on the mitsubishi, a lower profile spoiler like the stalker, had absolutely no affect at any angle during acceleration, deceleration, handling, braking....more of a novelty. They actualy removed the option soon after.

I have no experience with any of the larger types at track speeds.
