From driving in my 86(Z51) and my 91 ZR1(FX3). I would have to say that the Z51 "feels" better in the twisties. But there is no comparison in ride quality. FX3 wins hands down.
So I would say the the FX3 would be an overall better suspension. Being able to go from stiff to smooth is just too

Re: Fx3 Capabilities? (BiZ)
My FX3's are currently at bilstein for a revalve. I have a set of Z51's on as temps.
My thoughts, the FX3 in it's firmest mode had a better compression capabilities, but the rebound on the FX3 isn't as good. My shocks only had 26,000 miles on them at the time of removal, they weren't as firm as they should be. I went wit hthe Morocca valving. I'll be getting them back the early part of next week. I'll be posting a report back.
