While I agree with everything you posted regarding the ongoing dilution of our constitutionally guaranteed liberties in this great land.....that doesn't change the essential fact that the administrators set and enforce forum policy. Without those policies, this place would quickly deteriorate into a free for all, and none of us wants that. The forum is privately owned....and the first amendment doesn't necessarily apply here, nor should it.
I agree with the forum's policy on not condoning illegal activity. Street racing clearly falls into that category. We have sanctioned racetracks for that purpose.
GOOD LORD, didn't really want to kick up a beehive of controversy. Nor am I promoting street racing, just wanted to share an event that I'm sure everyone who drives a performance car has done sometime in the past. Mea Culpa.

Yesterday, had the 87 out for a drive like I usually do on the weekends. Was sitting at a red light and thinking about how I was going to get into the right hand turn lane to get onto the on ramp for the interstate about a mile down the road. Light turns green and I started quickly off the line, next thing I know the Impala next to me is neck and neck, where up to 50 in no time, so I said "OK" and stepped on it. Left him in the rear view mirror. Now I'm 65 and usually drive a 92 Tercel as a DD. I haven't beat the .... out of another car since I was 17, felt good.
Had a somewhat similar situation a few weeks back, some snot-nose in a 300zx wanted to play grab-*** from the light on US 64. I left the light in a spirited fashion and continued across the intersection....where I promptly let him win. He continued blasting down the road with a single finger salute in my general direction, and he was doing quite well. Right up to the time he encountered the black and silver Dodge Charger sitting in the median. The Trooper returned my wave as I rumbled politely by.
