Correct. The ZR1 is about 3 1/2 inches wider and then you also need to swap out door panels and a few other parts so they blend in. Costly just to get square tail lights.

Wouldn't a LT1 bumper bolt right on? (narrower than a ZR1)

Ecklers has a cover that fits with the later 91-96 tail lights.

Yes but the 91 up cars have a different style side molding. Maybe the experts will chime in & tell us how to make it look right.

You can buy an upgrade kit for about 700-1k for everything. (lights etc)

for the same price you can make it look like a c5.

Just remember the body work and paint is where the money is, and it may be harder to resell in the future if you plan to.

Default Zr1 style rear bumper

Corvette Central has a kit that looks like the 91 and up rear bumper that still uses the same molding as whats on your car. I dont know where the previous owner got the rear bumper for my 85 but its a fiberglass bumper with the square tail lights. The bumper has the thin molding like the rest of the car. Hope this helps and yes I know its dirty that was taken the day that I got the car it doesnt look like that anymore.....lol

When I bought my 87 some one had already done the swap to the newer style rear body panel and lights, using the correct belt line. They added the wing also.

From what I have heard the molding is part of the bumpers on the 91 and up. It is molded to the bumper so you are unable to take it off, I am not sure if this is correct but thats what I have heard.
