The vettes stereo is still in its stock configuration, and its time for a new system.
any input and help will be greatly appreciated

and before i get a "read the instructions" comment, the amp is used with no manual

Hi Terry, I put 4" fronts in my '94 and they were unsatisfactory. They are just not big enough. I replaced them with pioneer 6x8 and they work much better. Just overlay the speaker housing with 5/8 particle board and cut out the speaker opening so that the speaker nests in the cavity properly. The door sill carpet covers the speaker without bumping out at all.

I had the same foot pedal in my jetboat back in 78.

I know it may sound a little strange, But I have several 8 track recorders that are set up and fully functional. With some good software I have, I am able to make 8 track recordings better that the original pre-recorded ones I used to buy, plus I get to chose the songs I want.

By the way I play them in my 1969 GTX Conv. It came with a factory AM 8track player.

Those 4" speakers in the front are a waste of money for sure. IMO

I can't hear them. Putting 6x8 s was probably a smart thing to do.
