Default Should I take the Vette?

You experienced Vette owners have to help me with this one. Im really looking forward to the nice weather so I can pull the top down and take the car out. Im thinking of all of the places I wont to go. Jersey shore, Atlantic City etc. Then I say "Wait , Im not parking the car at that place. Or "I cant valet park it over there" .
Do you guys go through this? That you wont bring your car to places that you think it may have the chance of getting scracthed?
Any suggestions?

Valets can beat cars up bad too you know. It is going to get scratched/chipped eventually know matter how much prevention is in place. I say drive & enjoy it and don't get wrapped up in the what ifs.

Keep reality in view. These cars are inexpensive old sports cars, not high dollar exotics. But I do understand.

I park my Camry out in the driveway, in the snow, while my Corvette is in the garage. My Camry is worth twice what my Corvette is worth. But, you know how it is.

To your question, I don't go places with my Corvette that are "high risk". A busy shopping mall is out, or driving it to a baseball game. I wouldn't stress too much about valet parking. I guess it comes down to where you really want to drive it. There's some "risk" no matter where you take it.

I always laugh when I need to valet park the car, because I inevitably have to walk back and show him how to work the cars E-brake I do however, always worry about any situation where I need to parallel park the car with a front end as low as it is, and the fact most people seem to park by feel I've ended up with a scratched nose over this on a few occassions. But stuff happens, I was sitting at a red light one morning and a motorcycle plowed right into the rear end of my car

If you can't enjoy the car, what the hell good is it? It's not like General Custard is gonna steal it to go battle the natives.....

I take my LT4 on the Hot Rod Power Tour every year.
I have to park it in those hotel parking lots outside every night. At home it stays in the garage.

To be honest though, those hotel parking lots are packed full of other Power Tour cars, most of them worth much more than mine.
No need to worry with all those car guys sitting around in the parking lot most of the night drinking their favorite adult beverage.

Hey Friz,

You have to give out an award to those valet guys in the clip for safe driving.

Like others have stated, you kind of have to pick your “battles”...

Mall during Christmas? No Corvette.

Mall on a tuesday afternoon? No problem

Not that I hang out at the mall but you get the drift...

Valet is another deal entirely. Chevy put a valet key option in the Corvette for a reason. Beyond that I saw a news program where the reporter was unable to take the car anywhere without abuse or theft occurring. They tried like two dozen different places. ALL of them were abusing cars and searching it's contents.

Plenty of safe places to park in A.C. or other Jersey shore towns. Just got to pick a good spot. But I would never let a valet touch my car , too many images of the valet parkers in Ferris Buehler's Day Off.
