the same foaming tire shine will work wonders on your engine bay blacks. lots of microfiber towels and your normal cleaning stuff. I hit my seats with the shinyest detailer I can and hit my plastics with it aswel. Some toothbrush's for getting into grooves will help. coat the entire tire with tire shine but when you leave take it easy for about a block or 2 to get the junk off the treads. slip n slides have been known to occur. vaccum the interior before you go and give the car a nice wash down before you leave and then again when you arrive. use the quic detailer for added shine. Its just like normally detailing your car but be overly **** and have maybe a buddy look it over for things you missed. if its an outdoor event bring a popup shade and some folding chairs and a cooler for the refreshements above all have FUN.
if you have chrome or colored rims or even a tricked suspension *provided its clean*go to wally world n get some of the mirrors in the craft section. Any "display" around the car helps. If you have performance mods make a list of them and any pictures of before and after projects and oput them in a 3 ring binder for people to flip through. Its always nice to see a progression of a project and someones pride in thier ride. Its a crazy world and theres so many ways to do a car show. find what works for you and go with it.
I have used a California duster at shows for years they work great to keep the paint looking good during the show. You will have some people say they dont like them but for as many shows that I have been at almost everyone uses them.. Also prepare a soft vinyl or similar bag with all the supplies people have suggested. Keep the bag with you whenever you go to shows. It keeps everything together and easy to keep it out of the car while at the show. Bring plenty of rags, towels and microfiber towels.
90 miles? Bring just about everything... Glass cleaner, conditioner, quick detailer, towels, brushes, q-tips, etc...
Just don't leave any of it in the car obviously. Looks tacky.
Keep your liquids in a different box from your microfiber towel. I had a glass cleaner bottle soak my towels on the way to the show and that was a major disaster. 90% of my towels were wet.
I like a long handled boar hairs brush to wipe the wheel wells down and a short handle boar hairs to wipe the tires. I also have a slightly stiffer nylon brush to brush the tires if I am short of time or there is a lot of grass. I know this sounds like a lot, but our show venue is on a grass field that always seems freshly cut. It is amazing how much wet grass gets on your tires at 07:00.
To limit getting scratches on the paint, I use different color towels for the exterior, windshield, interior, weather-stripping, and cotton towels for the tires and rims. That way when I am in a rush I do not accidentally grab the wrong towel.
