Default New project

Well, since I sold the SR, I decided headers probably are not real important right now and, I started this, but mine stayed on the car. I will get pics some time in the future. I will say they clean up nice with a wire brush they almost match my stainless.

I will do headers when I do a build or get a real motor.

(THESE ARE NOT MINE)

Gavin, What the heck are you doing? You're selling your Vette, but you're stripping it ...I'm confused......I'm worried about you, do you have a plan?

Yes, and It will always be for sale, but it is not selling., so I am selling some pieces to get what I need to get it together for some track time this summer. I just have to make the best of what I have right now.

I am doing some projects and by some time in April I hope to have it done.

What power coupler? The one for the intake? I bought that a couple years ago, and sold my stock accordion one.
I took off most of my stuff, now I am just getting it running, and going to get some decent pads, my roll cage installed, and my gears.

I always thought 3.73 (IIRC you bought those) gears were a poor idea for the stock TPI intake. I would sell them and buy a 3.07 to just swap in at home. They are around $250-300.

Who is making your cage? I might need a local place for that sometime.

For the gears, The intake is a temporary situation to get the car running. I have been in and driven several different set ups, and I like gears in these cars. I will do an HSR in the end with these gears.
3.07 is nice compared to 2.59, but no comparison to 3.55, or 3.73.

I already have the roll bar. it is a Mitch Piper.
I bought it from urtoslo end of summer. I need to have brackets welded in.

That's a roll bar, not a cage. I thought you bought a hardtop to use? Tracking the car with the top down makes a lot of drag, using the hardtop would be much preferred. Extra safety is nice though and it has a bar for a harness.

I will be curious how the 3.73 and OD fare for track use. I don't use 4th and still burn up the trans.

Yes it is a 6 point bar,(I see what you mean in my last post) I bought a hardtop for that reason, sometimes it might be cool to have the top off for fun events. Yes it has a harness bar, so I can sell my R&D cross bar brace, since it also mounts there too.

I am not looking to be competitive just have some fun. I would just buy Mojaves car if I was real serious about racing. (I almost did)
