It all depends...Don't knock the RX-7. The Gen III twin turbo's are quite fast and light. Not only that, but I have had two friends who have put small blocks in them and they were both staggeringly quick.
The D-Bag in front of the car doesn't look too threatening tho...

not knocking rx-7's I owned 3 of them and if I didnt own a vette, I would own an rx7.
Well now nowadays there are a few cars that will give us a run for our money. Ill never forget the day I got cremated by a what seemed like a docile 1996 Honda Civic Hatchback. When I met up with the guy The car was completly stripped inside and had a turbo the size of a frieghtliners. Pumping what he said was 522 hp to the front wheels. He did beat me by like 20 cars.....
i say an economy car will always be just that. Muscle cars have the look the feel the power and the sound. And helloooo a corvette is much higher on the totem pole than lets say a civic si or a s2000 or anything like that. I mean what car can a 2 year old actually be able to point and name. Little kids see a corvette and go CRAZY. No riceburner does that. Plus you have muscle cars like the charger which are cows have good power and sound and get ragged on by riceburners. but i driven the chargers and yes they are slow but are great cars they still have power comfort and sound. NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT! Thats my motto!

The guy who bought my 92 Honda last year put a vette engine in his. i don't know if it was an L98 or LT1 though, I don't recall what he said. I was in disbelief he did it and wasn't paying that much attention I guess.
Said he had to lift the car up and then lower the engine and then lower the car, but it fit in it.
Import=Ricer=Junk, in my mind. The little rice race cars are all throw away cars after about 5 years on the road. How many muscle cars can really fit that reputation? Imports don't age well and only appeal to one age of buyer after they are more than five years old. The 17-25 year olds. All I do is laugh at those little toy cars no matter how fast they might go. I'm not impressed at all. When is the last time you saw one for sale on a reputable car lot?

maybe so, but he'll never look as good as you! especially with them fart mufflers they like to use!
not to mention in ten years your vette will still be around and that heap will be long rusted away! hehehe
Throw enough money at it, and you can make anything fast....but at at the end of the day, you can't fix ugly. You can't polish a turd.
With the exception of the S2000, they've yet to make a Honda that doesn't look ridiculous. The RX-7's, particularly the early ones, were very sharp. And a rotary that will wind upwards of 9K RPM sings a very nice song. The RX-8 never did it for me though.
