Weekday project
Door handles and the trim on the targa looking a little nasty so I took a couple of hours yesterday to spruce them up.
Nasty:
Roughed up the surface and used this trim black that I found at a paint jobber's:
Masking:
Finished, Pic turned out a bit dark. Looks much better in than it did. No pic of the targa. Deleted it by mistake before I got in the house.
Oh well, too cold to go back outside now. Looks much better though.

Dont you like the little projects that make a big difference ? I hated the gray look my door handles had. Finally did the fix last year when I painted the car.

Now a question, what sort of masking tape did you use? Is it something special?
And where can you obtain it?
Thanks for your answer . Good looking job too :
3M. Got it at NAPA. The cream colored tape is the least expensive, the blue is more and the green stuff is the priciest but gives the best edge with less chance of bleed through.
I am going to paint the entire car in my garage this summer as it is quite faded.
I also picked up a roll of 18" wide masking paper. It is much easier to work with and has less of a chance of being "wet through" than the newspaper I was used to using.
I did the exact same thing.. a little steel wool, a little masking tape ( any kind will work), a few old sheets of my local newspaper and its a big improvment.
