I would think it would leave an oily coating that would be hard to clean. I'v used it on wood but my vette? I'l try it on my neighbors car, think i should ask him first?
I'm curious about about the Murphys soap, but if I buy a bottle and it doesn't work well, then what? It smells too weird to clean my actual house with it.
I've heard it (Murphy's) works well on cloth seats and carpet stains, but don't know about painted surfaces. BUT,I heard from a chemist that Pledge has all the good things in it that safely cleans and makes leather soft. It sounds weird but he says why pay for fancy leather products when the Pledge is cheaper and better too. Who would have guessed!
I'll never get over the idiotic ideas some fruitcakes come up with to use on their expensive sportscar.
Why TF would you use Murphy's oil soap to wash your car when you can buy Meguiar's car wash for $5 a gallon. Do you Really think it's going to work better than something that was actually made for clear coat and paint??

I agree. Murphy's works as a mild soap, but the smell puts me off completely.

only a girl would think to go read the label and it says non-wood surfaces...no wax floors , ceramic tiles , laundry stains , cars and vinyl...but I still dont think I'm gonna stink up my car with it...yuk !!
been using this stuff for years , works VERY well , by the time you are done rinsing the water just sheets off. A little air to finish it off and feel the smooth finish
