1st, Congrats on the new car. Bad *** Black

2nd, I'm totally jealous that that kind of scenery is within a dealership or 2 of your house Being from the Armpit of American makes you see things that people shouldn't really see. And live to tell about them.

3rd, Could you do a followup on DogFishs' questions once you get settled in the car? You've only had the C5 a few hours or a few days? but if you could answer the same questions in a month or so. Whenever's good for you. Don't hold back. I can handle the truth. (I can't speak for everyone here)

Thanks a lot and again good luch and enjoy the f%@k out of that car!

Oh yah, A round of Hillers on the Cat again. He said so

Thanks, it's a great place to live. I can be in Park City in 30 minutes and Alta quicker. As far as the C5 goes, I will follow up in a month or so, but so far there are really 2 big differences, beside the C5 being much more comfortable (at a price, losing that C4 feeling).

First is the obvious power difference. I've never driven a ZR1 so I can't compare it to that, but it is much more of a motor than the LT1. The LS1 pulls much better than I expected.

The other surprise is the brakes, these things really stop well, better than the C4 by a big margin. I didn't expect that.

My C5 is fully loaded with just about everything you can get including the handling package which makes a big difference from other C5s I've driven but not all that much better than a C4, however I'm no race driver so I really am not a good person to compare the two. Red would be more qualified to answer that.

I'll follow up in a few weeks..........

If you ever do the C5 brake upgrade on your C4, you will feel they now stop the same. I think the C4 brakes are horrible. I've always driven new cars since 97 (mostly trucks and a couple beamers) and I couldn't get used to the fact the C4 just doesn't want to stop without some effort and planning (especially in SoCal traffic).

My C4 gets really lonely at night...... the wife is startin' to bi**h about all the whinnin' commin' from the back of the buildin'. Guess I'll have to buy a certain
c4 if it comes available or at least a '78 anniversary that I kinda been nosin' at.

Just curious, what would you spend $600 on to handle better than a Z? Starting with a coupe you need sways, shocks, and springs at minimum which is a LOT more than $600.

Yea... it was only a matter of time. I would have been here sooner but I was busy dealing with the fact that some old lady apparently thought that the passenger seat of my C5 was a good place to park her Lexus.

But since everybody else is doing it...

It isn't TOO bad. I haven't really had a chance to go all the way through it but I'm thinking new pass. door skin and minor paint work on the front fender and mirror at minimum. Thankfully the rocker is undamaged and other than a scratch or 2 the the only panel with any damage is the door. I am going to pull the inner panel off tomorrow to find out how bad it looks inside. There is something rattling around so I don't really know what to expect. It took a hell of a shot and seemed to hold up amazingly well.

I just had the whole car re-painted last year so hopefully any paint that is done will be a good match. (That is the glass half full version)

Wow, hope it goes well. Its not a good feeling to have that happen! Especially to something you like a lot. At least no one was hurt...

Yea... I don't like the sound of cracking body panels.

It really is relatively minor damage... nothing even remotely structural so it shouldn't (hopefully) be too bad. Just one more thing to deal with.

Enough about me... how about Hekking folding like a cheap suit and getting in a C5?!
