Yea... I don't like the sound of cracking body panels.
It really is relatively minor damage... nothing even remotely structural so it shouldn't (hopefully) be too bad. Just one more thing to deal with.
Enough about me... how about Hekking folding like a cheap suit and getting in a C5?!
I test drove one with a 6 speed for the first time, I was toast after that. Man that LS1 pulls! Actually would have done it sooner, but wanted to get the "Vette fund" up enough to cash out and have some left over to play with.
I would be interested in some pics while repairing, just curious how these things go back together.........

I'll snap plenty I'm sure. Working on C5s is amazingly easy compared to most other cars. I have yet to find a difficult thing to fix.
BTW: Remember this??

The comment that started it all.
EDIT: Saw the change in your post above... There really is a huge difference in the way that the M6 and Auto feel in the C5. As much as I hate to admit it, I am not at all a fan of the way an auto C5 feels to drive. I'm used to driving the Z06 around and forget sometimes that all C5s aren't like that.

Yea, that's one of those moments in time that I will never live down, but I'm sure it won't be the only one
You are right, the 6 speed C5 is huge difference from the auto. I was truly shocked when I drove one for the first time. Mine is absolutely loaded, I checked the options list and it has everything you can get on the coupe except the 19" wheels. Don't get me wrong, love the C4, it feels more like a driver's car to me, but man that C5 goes
That explains the whispering coming from the garage last night......... I thought I heard some one ask "do you think this color make my butt look fat?"...........
Just curious, what would you spend $600 on to handle better than a Z? Starting with a coupe you need sways, shocks, and springs at minimum which is a LOT more than $600.
C6Z51 sways w/metal endlinks, lower it with Bilstein sports? I shouldn't say 'better than a C5z'- I've never driven one. I could guess 'as good as'. I know the sways are bigger than the C5z coming out of the C6Z51, other than that?? I should've said, if you want a car that handles like it looks.......cuz the stock suspension on the standard C5s suck! My C4 w/FX3 on Perf is better.
