Default finally figured it out!!!!!!!!!!

ok so ive been trying to figure out why my coolant system was overpressurizing and leaking thru the waterpump weep hole and over heating...after all my best efforts i replaced a ((5)) dollar radiator cap..now it drains out into the overflow jug and on a hot day never seems to rise in temp above 219...wooohoooooooooooo..after all this i replaced plugs, wires, air idle control valve, throttle position sensor, coolant temp sensor and compressor...this c4 now drives like a kid in a candy store..FAST FAST FAST

I don't want to bum you out, but the 'weep' hole you are talking about is not a 'weep' hole. It's a sign water pumps give you that they are done. Also leaking on your Opti (depending on year). The cap may fix the overheating, but the pump needs to be replaced as it will always leak.

It may only leak when over-pressurized. If it doesn't leak with the new cap and the temps are normal, should be good to go.

The water pump should not drip from the weep hole...period. As the OP said, that pump is done. The coolant is bypassing the pump seal.
