Dumb Question
I have owned this 84 for five years. Have had the digital display out about 6 times. Today I noticed this for the first time. I am not kidding you when I say this. I looked in the Manuel and it does not say what it is. What is the little window over the speedo near the fog and headlight switch for. It looks like a bulb maybe in side it when I look with a flash light?????

maybe a light sensor for dimming the display at night?
just a guess...
edit-just looked in the FSM..."A photocell located on the face of the cluster provides
ambient lighting information to the cluster circuitry which in turn adjusts the panel
illumination as necessary".
so i'm guessing thats it.
