digital odometer glitch ?

hey guys,

my dad bought a vette 2 weeks ago, 33K miles...... he was out cruising today and noticed the odometer read 53K.....so he came home and was like wtf ?!?!??!

we disconnected the battery for 30 mins, and it went back to 33XXX

so, my question is, should we be suspicious of the dealer ? or was this just some crazy blip ??

any help, or experiences would be great,

You could have just pushed the ENG MET button again to switch it back instead of disconnecting the battery.

thanks for the obvious answer dudes................. my dad's not meant for fancy technology.....and yeah 95 vette electronics would be exactly that.

i should have read the owners manual.....i will go ask him if he was pushing buttons.
