Looks like an LT1 or possibly an LT4. Looks like a pretty clean installation or maybe it's some kind of special "Corvette" edition boat. Would be cool to have.
Care to back up your claim? Other than by stating that Mercury Marine assembled the LT5?
I posted info already in another post responding to someone else, and I see someone above you is aware also. You are right it is not necessarily a boat motor because mercury had a hand in them, but they were put in some performance boats too. I posted a vid and a web link to a book on them.(wet vette)

OK, but the fact that an engine was installed in a couple of boats, hardly makes it a "boat motor"... just sayin'...
I dont think its the same motor you would find in your vet maybe very very similar but boat motors are made to run at very high rpms for a long time with no transmission. how long would your LT1 run for at 5500 rpm for hours with out a rest?
