We just have to enlighten the new owners about the wave. Most don't know but of course there are always a few nitwits.

Those C6 guys are too busy texting, cell phoning, or playing with their "stick shifts" to notice you. Ignore them. They'll be driving something else in six months when their leases are up.

I always wave at a Corvette, even if I'm out for a walk.

i've seen a lack of the wave from C6 owners, not so much C5 owners..i just think that they buy the car more so for an image rather than the fact that they're a car enthusiest.

Got a return wave from a C5 owner a couple of days ago and talked to a C6 Z06 owner at a stoplight.

It also depends on where you wave... Sometimes I wave to Vettes across the median on the highway and they wont wave back, but sometimes they do.
Heck, yesterday a C4 didnt wave back to me and it was on a single lane road each way with a 40mph speed limit... She was to busy on her phone to "Save the Wave".

My point is, not everyone is a Corvette enthusiast even if they own one. Another problem is that while driving the main focus for all drivers should be to pay attention to the road, so we may not see each other every time!

Tell you one thing, its awesome when both drivers wave! Great feeling!

Cool Short Story:
I was on my way home from school and there was traffic on both the north and southbound lanes. I was in my Vette and there was a 350Z behind me. We were pretty much stopped for a min or two and I spot a C5 across the grass median, and behind him a 350Z. Well the C5 and I pretty much saw each other at the same time and both waved upon the sighting... A few seconds later, the 350Z tried his hand at the wave to the other nissan behind the C5... They waved to each other too... It was cool, everyone was looking at our Vettes!!! I figured this was a good story to share !

I'm going to have to point out page 4 of the owners manual to that C5 guy.

I get waves by C5 and C6 owners here. If I don't, chances are there a little too busy driving.

The enthusiasts will wave but the others won't. Not everyone who drives a vette are enthusiasts.

I have had people driving pick ups to foreign made vehicles wave at me when I'm in the vette.

I actually get more waves from people driving the Hot Rod and vintage type vehicles. they're a good bunch!
