Default New Ecklers scam

Just got a email for 10% off. Went to order off website after searching thru new 2010 catalog.
Guess what....the pricing online was at least 10% HIGHER than the "new" 2010 catalog........jeez.........

I got the same e-mail ad, the thing that made me laugh was the huge bold announcement "Safe 10% on EVERYTHING you need for your Corvette" followed by an asterisk that references the fine print disclaimer.

Exceptions
* Offer applies to internet orders only. Offer excludes discounts on Engines, Transmissions, Wheels, Tires, Glass, Cores, Gift Certificates, Restoration Services, Special Order Parts, select Kits and Zaino products. All orders are subject to verification. Discount is not valid on prior purchases and cannot be combined with any other discounts. Other exceptions may apply.

I guess their definintion of EVERYTHING is different than mine.

If everybody would stop using them they would go out off business, the trouble is there are too many guys who have money like C6 owners who use them they don't care about prices, they like paying for the name and don't care about finding a good deal. The C4 guys seem to be more of a working class kind kind of guy. If anyone disagrees with I would like to see Ecklers records showing if they sell more C4 or C5&6 parts.

Ecklers has the best prices but make up for it in shipping charges. I'm not too sure if it's ecklers per se or just the way business is done nowadays.

Seems a lot of people use tricks and gimmickery.

Everytime I want something, I find Ecklers is more expensive than anyone else. But Ecklers does have the best search on their website. I have in the past found items on Ecklers site, and then bought them, for less, elsewhere.

Yeah you may be right in general. Maybe it's the items I was looking at. At the time I noticed it, I was looking at some exhaust items and they were a little less expensive than MAMO. But still higher than CC.

I do like the fact they have a C4 specific catalogue, or at least they did.

Just got the new one for C4's. With shipping those prices should give you an option of applying for a home equity loan to pay for it.

not true. i find that ecklers has some of the highest prices out there...

here's an example of OEM front bearing assemblies. ecklers price $599 ea, partsladi, $399 ea

don't go into sticker shock, but GM's list price is $797.68. partsladi's price is near dealer cost. thank gawd for the internet and competitive shopping. i think if you compare apples to apples, those big catalog companies have some of the highest prices out there...

http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...8&dept_id=1804

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/84-90...Q5fAccessories

i probably do 90% of my on-line/internet shopping between willcox and partsladi.

I pretty much used to use Ecklers because it is only 2.5 hours from me. Last time I ordered something though, it took 5 freakin' days. It's one day shipping via UPS ground to anywhere in Florida! My last couple of purchases have been through Zip-Corvette and have been pleased. For a lot of replacement parts, I always check corvette-recycling first though.

I'm hoping Paragon comes out with a C4 catalog. Has anyone every seen their C1, C2 and C3 catalogs? (I have the C3). They're a combination parts catalog and Assembly Manual. VERY informative and useful.
