Default buzzzzing help!

OK so i wanted to change my interior lights to led's...i took the passenger side bulb out above the door handle to see what size it was and then the car started a loud annoying buzzing sound? i put the bulb back and it still did it...i started to get a little pissed because i just painted the car and now everything is falling apart...my speed sensor broke so i gotta fix that and then this buzzing...i checked all the grounds and fuses and their all fine? i started taking the dash apart and found it is a relay under the dash on the passenger side that buzzing...i replaced it but it still buzzes...so i took the whole dash off and pretty much everything else and i feel iv just damaged everything instead of fixing it can anyone help me

Do you have the service manuals for the car? The first thing I would do if it was me is find out what the relay is for that is buzzing - what's its function and what sets it off? It might be what you did, or maybe you just moved something the wrong way totally unrelated to your original project. Before you can answer why, you have to determine what the relay is.
Good luck!

How long did the car sit during the paint process? My '86 sat for about a month and even though the battery is less than 2 years old the battery was still down and when I first started it I had a buzz that was connected with the alarm system. Don't know really but it might be something to check out.

What is the buzzing like? Is it like a warning buzzer like headlight after you shut the key off and remove the key and open the door?

In your post you said you checked the owners manual. Did you look there or the Factory Service Manual? If you have the two volume service manual you should be able to trace it down. Without that try pulling the relay to see what system is affected and go from there. Good luck

ok so i started this thread about 5 months ago and i still have not fixed the problem...i have made progress tho..my courtesy lights (ones in the floor board and the ones in the doors) do not work..also the relay that is vibrating is the courtesy light relay. all of my bulbs are fine and when the doors are shut both ends of the lights read 12 volts. when the doors are open all the lights read 5 volts. when ever current is drawn somewhere else such as me poping the hatch the buzing stops and the lights read 0 volts..while driveing down the road i can turn my interior lights on and the screen flashes SYS..and everytime i turn my interior lights on it also does this....right now i have the whole dash off looking for any kind of shorts but so far i have not found any...does anyone have any clue what i should do next beside keep looking for a short?

Check the fuses. I had that problem and found a blown fuse. Replaced it and the problem went away. Good Luck.
