There is nothing wrong with the Cross-Fire engine that some intake manifold porting, or replacing with a better breathing induction system, won't fix. The well documented "problem" with the Cross-Fire is the half size manifold ports. Pretty standard sbc after that. It does have forged pistons, takes nitrous no problem. As has often been said, a lot of Cross-Fire critics have never owned one.

That car is not likely to be much of a bargain if it clears the reserve. There are too many low price better condition C4's that you can buy that will be a better deal money wise vs. dumping a bucket of cash into fixing that '84.

That about sums it up.

Depending on what the reserve is, it could be fun daily driver. Making a Crossfire run is falling off a log easy.

True. And it's difficult to work on. No aftermarket support whatsoever, so good luck finding parts or making it faster than stock. No wonder they didn't make the SBC very long.

Oh and I forgot to say, every time I painted one it fish-eyed and that Darn cat tried to eat it.

Screw technological advances, we should all be running carbs, since that is what was before Crossfire. Crossfire was a step towards modern fuel injection, so it is the worst idea ever conceived by man.
