It probably also says something about driving at excessive speeds, ripping out the interior, using non DOT tires, removing factory emissions controls, and about a thousand other things that are ignored on a regular basis.

When I see a Vette with a chipped up nose and a trailer hitch I know that is somebody who really enjoys their car.
I'd rather see a DD or driven car than an old low mileage Garage queen that had been owned by Waxers.

Youd have to be a flippin fool to tow a boat with a Vette that is an accident waiting to happen. Small trailer to hold tools and tires not a big deal.

.....and the factory says LT1 redlines at 5700 too....

IMO I'd rather see corvettes out on the streets being driven vice parked and waxed so...if you need the cargo space put a hitch on the sucker and DRIVE....

Being a waxer would drive me nuts, how can these owners put their car in a show and sit out in the sun all day, if I go see a car show I walk through it pretty fast, if something catches my eye I look at it, if not im out of there pretty quick just waiting for the next race day. P.S. I wax mine too.

So you're saying that us "waxers" and "garage queen owners" don't really enjoy ours? Get serious. Some of us keep them in nice condition just to have something as a "stress reducer" when the other things in life become a real p.i.t.a. These cars are a way of relaxation for some. Me included. Racing them, restoring them, daily driving them or just keeping it immaculate is just different ways we use to "vent" when we need to. The same impression you get of us waxers is probably the same impression we get of guys like you who don't really care about how good it looks. We have our toys and you have yours.

Really? Defensive much? Please tell me what I said negative about the way that anybody enjoys their car. When did I use the terms "waxer" or "garage queen"? Quotation marks usually imply that you are quoting something.

Get the panties un-twisted just a bit. The comment "I know that is somebody who really enjoys their car" did not imply that it was the ONLY way to enjoy a car. If you get all worked up and defensive about a comment like that I can imagine that you probably need a lot of relaxing drives.

Who are you to say that I "don't care about how good it looks"? I (and many others) seem to think that my cars look just fine. I have no problem with the "waxer" crowd and never have. You, on the other hand made it clear that you take issue with people who choose another method of enjoying their cars. Good thing I don't give a **** what kind of impression you might have of "guys like me."

One thing for sure, you DO know what defensive means! But why do you have to get so emotional? You reply like a mad little boy who has to get the last word in.

Yes, it does confuse me that somebody would buy a car that is intended to be a performance car, and not use it to do what it was built for. To each their own, but I would buy a Benz or BMW if I wanted to look at it.

Seriously man... take a deep breath and relax just a bit. I'm not mad or emotional in the least. I have more important things in my life than to get upset at what people say on the internet. I'm just curious as to what got you all pissy, that's all. If you forgot, you are the one that quoted me all upset about a comment that had nothing to do with you, or even anything to do with your out of the blue reply including "waxer garage queen" comments that I never made. If you want to drive your car 1 mile a decade I couldn't care less. Seems like a pretty stupid thing to get upset about. I haven't made a single negative comment about anything in this entire thread yet you seem to be getting more and more insulted by something.

Please enlighten me as to what I said that offended you. You have yet to answer that very simple question. In case you might have missed it, there is nothing angry in this post. Let's see if you can actually give a civil reply this time instead of more random insults.

(My guess is that you will reply with more insults instead)

I've come to the conclusion that redls1gto is just a crybaby who doesn't know when to give up. He feels for some reason he needs to repremand me by throwing childlike insults at me personally. This is a forum to give our opinions. I gave a reply to this to this thread, not him personally, with a few comments about what I thought on the subject. Not his opinion. I don't give a flying f--k about his opinion or what he thinks of mine. I never once quoted him. I used the names given to guys like me. "Waxer" and "garage queen owner". But he insists I did. Oh well.

This is the best thread since the cat and dog left town After reading all this I can't see what was said to get all this going, oh well at least I'm not in the middle for a change.

Really, we can do better without them, can't we?

Red, I'll try to get a PM to you today, many questions to ask. Most importantly, what I should use for a power plant. I have a few options ranging from a 383 stroker in the garage (dyno'd at 475 RWHP) to tracking down something more exotic, just need some thoughts.

See post 26. Looks like a quote to me.

Like I have said many times now. I couldn't care less what you do with your car and it seems like a pretty silly thing for you to get all wound up about. This is a thread about something as random as a trailer behind a Corvette and you jumped in all butt-hurt and defensive about being a waxer (your words). I still haven't figured out why. If something as stupid as this, especially on the internet, gets you to the point of calling people names you might have some more serious issues. Maybe a few more relaxing drives would help.

Read the posts that I have made. There is no name calling and there are no insults. I never said anything negative about him or anybody else that doesn't "see things my way" I certainly didn't "tear into him" about anything. He quoted a post of mine out of the blue that was completely unrelated and got all defensive for some reason. I have "waxer" cars myself and wouldn't ever fault somebody for having a different opinion than mine on something like that.

Oh well. Some people are just touchy I guess. Good thing I didn't say that C5s are better than C4s.

The first Vette I bought in 1976 was a 1970 and it had a hitch on it.I took it off. I could barely afford the Vette much less something to tow.
