Default Trans Progress :D *pics*

Pulled trans. Removed bell housing. removed pressure plate and clutch. Removed flywheel.

Installed fly wheel.

Then went to install the new clutch and pressure plate and the factory bolts are too long.

Eff my life. Nothing with this situation is right...

Default long bolts

There is an excellent machine shop in Quincy IL. about 23 miles from me and they have a parts counter. If I need something special I usually check with them so you might check with the machine shops in your area. If they don't have it they may be able to point you in the right direction and usually not at dealer prices.

They are after market upgrades.

Spoke to the guy from carolina clutchs (where I purchased the flywheel/clutch/pressure plate from) and he said hes never heard of this problem before on LT1 vettes He said that this only happens with the LT5 zr1's... Strange... But we are sorting the issue out!

Ran into another snag... Factory pressure plate bolts were too short/long...

Old bolt. (factory)

New bolt.

Gap between the pressure plate and flywheel with the OLD BOLTS installed.

Yeah this sucks... Im sooooo close to finishing this project but I keep getting caught on stupid little snags!

Now I cant get the input haft to line up and slide into the pilot bushing... So the trans is a 1/2 an inch away from being installed but that last 1/2 inch has been giving me hell for 2 hours...

I've been rereading your original post. It seems the only pieces different than before are the clutch disk and the pressure plate? Is that the correct pressure plate? using the original flywheel? can you find original part # of pressure plate and corresponding part # of pressure plate-to-flywheel bolts?

WAIT... I noticed there is a small section of the C-Beam still attached to your trans. Why did you cut it?
