I dont know why you guys are upset?? They gave him America's Sports Car... A no-hitter in todays MLB is an amazing feat! It is probably the one thing a pitcher wants to do in his career. Sure he is rich, but thats besides the point.
They could have given him a Japanese car like a GTR or a German car, but no, they chose the American Icon, a Corvette...
I think it was a good gesture for something they "feel bad " for...
he needs to stop being a little bitch. he gets paid millions for his job. he did his job. he got paid.
screw the perfect game.
he doenst need hand outs. this is wack
Wow! You sound a little bitter. Lemme guess, You played baseball in High school and you would be in the big leagues if your coach didn't hate you right?
If you knew the story at all you would know that he has been an incredibly good sport about it and has not complained at all about the call. Also, his salary this year is $435,000. Not chump change by any means but nowhere near "millions".

You gotta be kidding me.
Galarraga just raised the bar for athletes with character and sportsmanship. The way he handled Joyce's call and losing his no hitter was nothing short of a class act. Even in his postgame interviews he never threw Joyce under the bus, when he had every right to. Little bitch my ***. I hope he enjoys that new C6, he deserved it.

He is a perfect example of the unspoiled athlete. Even in the moments following the call, he just shook his head and smiled. Absolute class act.

His 2009 salary data is listed at $435,000, compared to Dallas Braden $420,000, Ubaldo Jimenez $1,250,000 and Roy Halladay $15,750,000. I think a new Corvette is a nice gesture and a whole lot of good PR and advertising for GM. Gotta admit I'm biased towards anything good for the Detroit area, people been kicking us since we're been down .....
time to take it back people. no one needs to make that kinda coin playing a game. and a free vettecause he didnt get his what 3rd? no hitter for the year? give me a break
From: levittown pa. usa Even a bad day with my `Vette, is better than a good day at work

Good Point! , besides, how many people in any sport take responsibility for their actions?, normaly all you see/read are folks pointing fingers & playing the "blame game". The exchange between these two individuals is a breath of fresh air, I don`t care how much money they make.
It's whatever if you ask me. I personally feel athletes are overpaid and overglorified. In the wake of athletes who disgrace the game they play, as well as their families, we bow down to those who don't throw a fit over a bad game call. Then they follow by handing out a Corvette to make him feel better. A bit much if you ask me.

He didn't lose out on a no-hitter, he lost out on a perfect game. In the history of baseball, there have been only 20. Coupled with the fact that the blown call would have been the last out, it is tragic.
No one is crying for the guy, but people who love the game and who appreciate history have an understandible sense of loss for the guy. Taken with the incredible class he has shown over the incident, I do believe that it is a well deserved "prize".
Give kudos to a smart marketing/PR person at GM for making this happen.

Screw the perfect game? Do you know ANYTHING about baseball? There have been almost 400,000 games played in the history of Major League Baseball and there have been 20 perfect games. You do the math on how big of a deal it is.

Good answer N00b.
Does he "deserve" to be given a new Vette? No. Do I have a problem with him getting one? Absolutely not. He has been an absolute class act through this. With kids growing up watching the cheaters, the murderers, and the rest... this is a refreshing change.
