Well; The Vette owner came & looked at my Mustang. We went for a ride with one of his children, & he & his wife really liked it so it looks like the deal is on. He is going to put the Vette in the shop for the rear main seal this week, & get it Pa state inspected. After that we can do the swap. He says that he has bought a ton of stuff for the car that he has not installed, so all that will go with it. On a side note, the Procharger has a really loud whistle when the car is running. Anyone know if that is normal or is there a way to quiet that down a bit. I have no experience with huffers. Thanks for all the opinions. This is a great forum with great people/enthusiasts.

Sounds like you're getting a pretty good deal. As far as the whistle goes, the filter looks pretty dirty from the pic i would give it a good cleaning.

Hope it works out with you for the Vette. Shame that blue vert sounds bad otherwise I might be interested and I would be in that area in a month too anyway. Oh well.

Thanks. on a side note, the present owner gave me a folder that has just about every receipt on everything done to the car since `96. Just for the fun of it I got out the old calculator & totaled up everything that I could read, (some of the receipts were really faded & unreadable). after doing so, I had to redo the calculations because I thought I was making some kind of mistake. After totaling everything up for the third time, ( parts- engine, trans, interior, paint, rear, procharger etc etc etc) the grand total was, $31,927.31, & that does not include the price of the car. So in essence, the owner that died & bequeathed the car to the present owner, bought a used `Vette & spent some really serious money on this car. One of the papers In the pile was a quote from Hagerty ins to the present owner in `04. The quote was $404 for a years coverage with an agreed upon value of $26,000. I have to have this car just for the story line if nothing else

As soon as the present owner gets the rear mainseal installed, & gets it inspected. I`m thinking later this week or next.

The owner Emailed me today & said that the rear seal was done this morning. He also said the 315`s would be in & on this afternoon. It seems his wife is anxious to get the Mustang for the holiday weekend. I`m starting to get excited like I did when I was a kid with Christmas just around the corner. I diden`t think that could happen to an old fart like me in my 60`s. Owner told me that one of his business friends has a towing company, & they are going to cover the car, & bring it to me on a roll off so as not to get any dirt/chips etc. on it. Being the "trusting" soul that I am, when it does arrive we are going to take it for a nice long drive, just to make sure all is well. I don`t expect perfection, but I was not born yesterday either. If everything checks out, he will go home in the `Stang, & I will post lots of pics here.

UPDATE:, Well its official, I`ve now become a member of the "More than one Corvette club". We did the trade Saturday. It only cost me $75 for tag & title work. We told the tag lady that it was an even trade, so there was no sales tax. The car is very nice. I was not expexcting perfection, so here is what needs to be addressed. The wheels looked great in pics, but the chrome is pitted on all & starting to lift in some places. I`m wondering if those brand new 315`s will fit on stock rims. The former owner had the rear wheels widened. I wanted to take the splash guards off, but when I removed one, I noticed that it had left a mark in the paint where it was mounted, so I put it back on & I guess I`ll have to live with them, since the car was painted a "one off" custom color. The radio only plays on one side, so I`ll be replacing that. There is no hood prop because the Procharger takes up the room on the driver`s side, & it looks like the A/C unit takes up most of the room on the pass side. & the pass side headlight only comes up half way & then just swings back & forth. Also somebody thought it was a good idea to put those silly looking bubble covers on the tail lights, which was bad enough, but the PO lost one of them leaving only three. I took off two with no problem-----But the third was superglued to the tail light, & I managed to break the light assembly trying to get it off- who knew?. Other than that, the car sure does move & cleans up great, so I still think I got the best of the deal. Here are some pics of both. You should see the people driving by slow down & do a double take as they go by the driveway. I should charge admission

I would have taken more, but it was 101 degrees outside the house---but it was still fun, Ken

Do it and hurry
and i had a 80 zephyr and it was indestructible! Bought it for 50 bucks!

It leaked oil so bad the rods would start to chatter then we would put oil in it and it would be fine!

For beer money i would keep a ball bat in the trunk and let people hit it for a dollar (no glass breakage) (4 bucks for natural light 12 pack back then)

Then we made racing stripes out of duct tape....

We would jump rails road tracks ALA Dukes of Hazard

I had a motor mount break, by buddy grabbed a tire tool beat down the cross member so the fan would clear and got another 20k out of it.

Man i miss that car...something cool about a 50 dollar car

Ive always been told the 700r4 and dana 36 would not hold up long to power?!

How is this cars rear end and tranny?

Were they built up to withstand the extra TQ from the sc?

What was done to the inside of the motor? L98 is a beast with boost!

After my HSR tpis headers cnc heads and cam... and that giveing 350=375hp is all my poor dana 36 and 700r4 can take... But i want to Super charge it and im stumped on what to do about the Rear End!
