jhammons01, your approach to soldering every joint on the circuit board worked because that was the problem (a bad solder joint) but if a component itself was malfunctioning your procedure would not have worked and how would you find out which one it was unless you know how to test it?
By the way, let's cut out the personal insults (anyone with an IQ above room temp? WTF)you don't know me and I don't know you but I think we're both way past high school.

That and the fact that this procedure has fixed almost every board it was ever tried on...I'm not saying 100% due to hard heads like you not wanting to listen to proven results.

Look mang, you aren't the first....this same argument takes place at least 10 times per year on this very forum.

Batee.com has helped thousands....me included.

Why would you come on here with a month or two of membership and dispute something that is well known?

I'm not going with "you are new, you can't post" ....I'm just saying...watch and learn for once.

YOU have no idea how many hard heads have come back to thank me for "gently prodding" them to the right answer for fixing the cluster. They, like you, complained and moaned the whole way.....however....once they actually listened and the results were what they were......my oh my how their tune changed.

Hi.
I went to the batee's site (an excellent resource for many C$ issues)and fixed my 86 cluster in 2002. It failed again in 2004 and NOTHING on batee's site fixed it. I sent it out and it was repaired. It failed again in 2009. I think the batee stuff will probably fix it now - it appears to be the power supply (maybe capacitor(s)). My point: the batee site is a good place to start, and you should start there, but it won't fix every problem. Oh, and the 93 digital lcd is quite different from the 84 -89 "video game" cluster.

The continuing batte.com discussion reminds me of an old saying: "To the person that owns only a hammer, every problem must be a nail." Oh, and the Oilers moved to Tennesee years ago. :-)

BTW I put a keyless entry in my 86 from the batee site instructions - good stuff on batee.com!

^^LOL....yes the Oilers did move..and become the Titans....I am still a true blue Oilers fan and always will be. Not a Titans fan, never been to Tennessee....

Batee.com does fix MOST common problems, could there be other issues, sure....but until you've tried the >$50 method, and the most common...why do the other more expensive alternatives first?

That's all I'm saying...and Hard head stumbles in and claims there is no info on Batee.com....as if he took a moment to look.
