Welcome, Check the CC release switch at the brake pedal shaft.

Known to go bad, wont let the CC engage.

Thanks guys. I love the vert it is a great car. The brake switch was one of the first things I checked. The wires have been ripped out of the cruise switch. I tried to solder them but I have to replace the stalk.
