You don't need a reader. Just paper clip it like F22 said and check the SES light.

OK. I do believe there are OBDI readers out there. Maybe you can borrow or buy one

The autozone and kragen here also rent them. Ask your shop if they do or know of somebody who does. Beyond that you can make your own ALDL cable and there is freeware to run with it however it will take a little time, effort, and money so you may want to check the rental first as it may be your fastest route to a solution.

What a total drag! That sucks and you're just one of many across, what was once a great country and look where we are now.

What does America have left anymore? We used to be the Industrial Giant of the World and now all we have left for work is the 'Service Industry' (Poodle Groomers, Lawn Mowers and Nail Salons).

We've outsourced our Manufacturing Jobs, Offshored our Technology (we don't make a single PC in this country) and have had Illegal Immigration eat away the wages at what was left of the lower middle-class. What's left is Wall Street making big bucks no matter which way the market goes (think Goldman Sachs loses anything?) and the rest of us. It is bleak indeed.

I wish you the best of luck finding a job.
