I envy YOU, that is a ridiculous speed. I can't even get anything faster than 3 Mbps around here. And that is $100 for just internet

That is insanely fast, holy crap! Mines only 6 Mbps, which is plenty enough for watching HD videos on the internet. And it's only $38 a month.

To answer two questions posted above. I live deep in the Adirondack Mts of NY. Satellite internet would be possible, but it would require a major logging operation to cut a swath in the timber for a sat shot. When needed, I can go to the village and us the WIFI at the library which is high speed. But its a 18 mile round trip. Actually, I have never had high speed at my home, you get used to slow speed and its limitations Plus Disconnects.

You just accept it and live with slow speed. But there are sure advantages to living remote that I would not trade for high speed internet.

You mean to tell me your phone company doesn't offer DSL or anything like it?

And DSL is old tech now.

DSL is limited by distance and he's up in the mountains so he's probably some ways from the local telco POP.

Hello;

Wow!!! I thought I had it tough. Never thought anyone could have a slower system.
When I connect most often it's 21.5 kbs. But, I think that's a bunch of bull. I watch the connection time and it varies widely but still shows 21.6. On occasion 16.1.

We have only one telephone company, Century Tel, offering service in this area. About 3 years ago they said they would offer High Speed by that fall. It never came. Come spring I called to inquire and was told the company had an opportunity to buy another telephone company and expand so they used the money dedicated to High Speed to buy that company. I call from time to time. Most recently about 3 weeks ago and was told they don't have any idea. That the best source for that information is to talk with one of there techs when I see them working in the area. How about that!!!! The company does not know but the field tech does????

I have to rely on satellite but I still have to pay a NH excise tax for the privilege of a slow connection.
