Bad Experience with Just Corvettes

You take your chances when you buy stuff from a salvage yard. I found that Craigslist is a good source and when it is local you can check it out and make sure it fits and is as described.

Yeah, I see what you mean. More costly in time to pursue it than it's worth. That's OK....You have one major victory in your corner....nobody who's read this thread will buy anything from them.

Be sure and leave a negative comment about the way you were treated. As I recall, they changed the protocol a while back so that a seller cannot leave negative feedback about the buyer, if the buyer leaves negative feedback.

Not always true. Sometimes the customer is out of their freaking minds and cannot be reasoned with. This doesn't seem like one of those cases.

I've had customers who accidentally put diesel in their rental car 120 miles from here, and then expect us to reimburse them for their missed flight, hotel, meals, lost time etc. Yes, they seriously expect this. No, they don't get it. And yes, they have to pay for the damage. And no, they don't like it.
The customer isn't always right. But when they are right and we've made a mistake, I will go to the ends of the earth to make it right for them. I always put myself in their shoes.
But in this case, it sounds like the customer was definitely right, and it should have been handled differently. There is a measure of common sense and reasonability to everything.....and I think a little compromise here would have gone a long way.

If you bought it through Ebay using paypal (even if not credit card) you can file a dispute within 45 days

This place is less than an hours drive from me and I refuse to buy anything from them. They're rude, WAY overpriced and 99% of what they sell is total junk that they will claim is in "perfect" condition. Run Run Run Far away from this place. In fact, I would actually buy from Eckler's before I would buy from "Just Corvettes".

They don't exactly have a great BBB rating either. Sounds like the OP wasn't the first to be ripped off and messed around...

They're currently rated a C+ company by the BBB. Have you tried filing a complaint against them? On large dollar online purchases, I try to make it a point to check a business' rating whenever available. It helps to avoid or minimize problems later on. Good luck!

BBB shows them as C+ with one unresolved complaint. File yours there as well, and I bet they'll drop quite a bit on the "report card".

Everybody who thinks eBay and Paypal is a guaranteed way to not get ripped off is sadly mistaken. If you read the fine print, they dont promise to get your money back. The only time this will happen is IF the seller has money in his Paypal account The only thing that will happen to a rip off artist on eBay is his account will be frozen or closed. eBay does not prosecute anyone. If you have a complaint, you have to file the charges with your local law enforcement, the post office or who ever has jurisdiction in your area. You may be able to recover money IF you paid with a credit card through your CC company, not the seller. If you paid with paypal directly out of your bank account, your screwed.
I bought a computer processor once where a 100+ positive feedback seller sold about a hundred of them then cut and ran. They only ones who got anything back were folks that sent a Postal Money Order. The rip off artist knew he would face federal mail fraud if he cashed em so he mailed them back. Everyone else lost out.

Just corvettes
I live in St charles MO, I have beent to Just Corvettes all they are is a junk yard for vettes. They buy vettes and part them out. I have never seen a vette worth anything on their lot. They charge the same amout for some of their parts that you can find new from ecklers. I strongly recomend not doing business with them.
