On my 1986 cold start issues. My question is, If I disconnect the cold start injector at the intake and try to start the engine, will I see fuel spray coming out of the injector. Is this a solid way to tell if it is functioning correctly?

It depends on the engine coolant temperature. The cold start injector is only active when the coolant temperature is below 95 F and the time interval that it sprays fuel increases with decreasing coolant temperature. It is held on for 8 seconds at -4 F.

Thanks a ton. This thing has been one good headache. Today I took the fuel pulsator out of the tank and replaced it with a peice of fuel injector hose thinking that would help. It did to a certain extent. I still have to crack the throttle a little for it to crank. Next weekend im gonna get a fuel pressure guage and try to narrow it down a little more. It starts great with the motor hot.
