Default 96 LT4 value

What is the going rate for a 1996 Coupe with the LT4 option, F45 suspension, both tops with 35,000 miles in excellent shape??

Edmunds list the car at $10,000
NADA low 12,000 High 21,000
KBB 13,700-18,700

If you can find a car like that for $10,000 I'll take two! Most of the cars I see advertised (usually with more miles than that) are in the $15-17,000 range. None of them seem to sell very quickly in the current market, though.

10 -14 but you have to find a buyer, you can get a C5 for 15 ,most would go that route because its newer.

I'm in the same boat. I found an LT4 in the 30k miles range that was right on the KBB price.

My instinct tells me to hold off and get him down some more. If I could get 2k below book, then I'd go for it. They seem to be going up for sale at a frequency that doesn't quite make them 'rare'.

It has been kind of difficult to figure out what is fair. I know the c5 is probably more desirable. But I already own one of them. How about the F45 option, good or bad? Does it add to the value or detract because of the high cost of replacement shocks if you can even find them?

A used dealer would put that up for 14.5k here in Houston, but I wouldn't pay more than 11.5k if I already had a c5.

What are you going to do with the car?

Personally I'd buy that car for 15K because to me ... it's a great value for a low mile daily driver. If your thinking of buying it for an investment or to resell it a few years down the line, forget it. NO C4 makes a good appreciating investment at this point except perhaps an extreamly low mile GS.

For some reason and I don't know why the low mileage red-gut GS seem to hold value much better than even low mile 95 ZR1's.

These days most C4s are great bang-for-the-buck sport cars. If you're buying a low milage C4 to use for a long term really fun daily driver then $2k - $3k in either direction makes no long term difference.

I'd be interested to hear other opinions, but to me this would be bad. I would not want an F45 car, specifically for the reason you mention. Of course you could put base shocks in, and have a functionless switch in the dash. But me personally, that would irritate me.

The high end of KBB and NADA seem absurd, but the Edmunds price is a steal.

You can always do the F45 to F55 conversion right around $2000 and from my understanding it is a night and day difference

It would be a more usable toy, not looking for an investment. I own a 2003 z06 A&A supercharger, custom done rims and vet stripe kit. The car in my avitar. Everytime the car is out people are always on top of it, and I really am not comfortable leaving it out of my sight even for a split second. Looking for a more low stress option, but would still like a car in pristine condition.

Say what?? F55 is magnetic ride control and was only offered from 2003 on. How are you swapping that onto a C4?

Not according to the Haggarty Insurance website; on the contrary, Haggarty states that the LT4's value will increase in the near future.
